Dawn arrived in Perth in 1993 from her country of origin, Malaysia. 
In addition to speaking fluent English, she is also fluent in Mandarin and Malay. 
Dawn recognises the need and requirement for providing counselling for
individuals from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. 

Growing up in Malaysia, Dawn recognises that people may not be fully aware
of the true benefits of counselling, and therefore this type of service may be under utilised. 

Dawn is passionate about the benefits of counselling and education for individuals
who want to make changes to their lives, and seek support and encouragement
to do this. Dawn works with individuals, couples and children.  

Her belief is that there is no one specific method to help individuals,
as each individual is unique. In order to help each client, she uses
an eclectic approach, and views the client as a whole person,
providing support, encouragement and education to assist them
through their challenges.  It is Dawn’s purpose to see her clients
overcome their challenges, and be more empowered as they develop
and embrace their new life skills.

美玲在1993年從馬來西亞移民來珀斯.除了能說流利的英語，她也能說流利的普通話和馬來語。在馬來西亞長大的美玲發現有許多種族與不同文化背景的人都不曉得輔導服務的正真作用。 就因為這, 這種服務不常被啟用。 

美玲對輔導服務的好處好熱情。她不只希望能幫忙客戶更改他們的生活, 也希望她能給 予客戶支持 與勉勵他們。

美玲和單人,夫妻和小孩。美玲覺得每個人都獨特, 因為她相信在輔導客戶時, 都沒有 特定 的方法去幫助他們. 所以, 美玲都用折衷的方式來幫忙客戶。不只那, 美玲也把每 位人看成全 體. 來給予支持, 勉勵與教育。她希望這方式能協助客戶克服自己的挑戰, 也希望客戶在獲授權時, 開始擁抱他們的新生活技能。
